I’m thrilled to announce that the concept sketch for my mural at The Fitchburg Abolitionist Park has been acquired by The Fitchburg Art Museum! This piece holds deep personal meaning for me, and I’m beyond grateful that it will be part of their collection. This concept sketch is not just a design, but a reflection of my personal connection to Fitchburg’s abolitionist history—a story that continues to resonate today.
When I first submitted this piece, the board at the park shared how much heart they saw in the design. They felt it beautifully communicated the legacy of abolitionism in the area while also shining a light on the work still to be done. The mural itself, which I painted at the park in 2022, features vibrant Egungun masquerade dancers—figures from Yoruba culture meant to honor and celebrate ancestral spirits. By incorporating these dancers, my goal is to provide Black children in the community with an empowering image of their heritage—one filled with life, color, and celebration, rather than oppression.

To make this piece even more accessible, I’ve had the concept sketch printed as a postcard, and it’s now available for sale at Salem Sisters Magic Treasures! Whether you're a fan of the mural, a collector of my work, or someone who loves supporting local artists, this postcard makes for a perfect addition to your collection.
I can’t wait to share this journey with you all, and I’m grateful for the ongoing support from each of you. Stay tuned for more updates on the mural and upcoming projects!
With gratitude,
Digi
